After spending many years as a professional nurse practitioner focusing on the effects of illness and ‘dis-ease,’ Janet Allen decided to seek the causes of perfect health.
Included in her new book Spiritual Effects of Live Food: Diet for a New Age is a ground-breaking study, designed and conducted by the author, which presents preliminary evidence that a pure compassionate diet of organic vegetarian food—still alive with healthy bacteria and enzymes—contributes to potential benefits, such as: slowing the aging process, clearing the mind, restoring body energy and helping to resolve emotional conflicts. Janet’s book is about enhancing personal peace and holistic well-being through conscious dietary practice.
Janet Allen lives on a farm in mid-Michigan where she and her husband Mark grow much of what they eat and have been over 90% raw vegetarians since 2003. She is passionate about sharing the principles of purifying the body, especially through diet, in order to increase the flow of vital life energy and enhance overall physical and spiritual well-being.
Later this year Janet plans to publish another book, Raw Seasons, full of raw vegan recipes that she either developed originally or that she has enhanced using her knowledge and experience. Raw Seasons will also have chapters on how to grow your own food year-round, even in cold climates.
Janet has just published her second book, "Raw Seasons", a recipe book of delicious vegan (mostly raw) meals. Janet has just published her second book, Raw Seasons: What to Make with What you Have: American Home “Cooking” – Raw Vegan Style. It's filled with over 200 raw vegan recipes that she either developed originally or enhanced using her knowledge and years of experience preparing raw meals at home.
Raw Seasons has chapters on how to grow your own food year-round (even in cold climates or small apartments), as well as seed saving and raw food preservation.
